Social Impact

In addition to being a brilliant scientist, prof. S. K. Rangarajan was a sensitive and warm father, father figure and human being, with profound insights on social, arts/literature, and scientific spheres. We would like to continue his legacy by making a difference in the life of underprivileged individuals through various initiatives, support for deep enquiry into the nature and philosophy of science and technology through our association with barefoot philosophers led by Dr. Sundar Sarukkai, and support researchers with a desire to make a social impact through the Sarukkai Digital Externalities Fund and support students with a desire to have a social impact through the Sarukkai Social Impact Award -- both instituted at UC Berkeley.
